Kid-Link Early Intervention is an evidence based coaching model that provides therapy services in the child’s natural setting. The therapist will assist, evaluate and provide assistance in the development of the Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) in meeting goals that are driven by the family outcomes desired work with Kid-Link.

As an Early Childhood Special Educator, you would assist in the planning, organizing and implementation of the early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities within the counties served by Kid-Link.This is a full-time position that may base out of Stockton, KS or Norton, KS and will service theNorton, Phillips, & Smith Co region of Kansas.Salary:$43,000- $56,000contingent on credentials &/or experience.

Work jointly with the Director and Family Services Manager and Kid-Link team to implement policies pertaining to the Kid-Link program.

  1. Serve as Primary Service Provider (PSP) and Joint Visitor as appropriate to assigned caseload. Consult with team members in strategies and coaching to assist identified outcomes.
  2. Act as a contact person for parents and other service providers concerning the Kid-Link program.
  3. Report to the Director and Family Services Manager on potential problems within the Kid-Link program and other agencies associated with Kid-Link.
  4. Participate in DSNWK long range planning process and the Kid-Link Network Continuous Improvement Plan by creating and completing goals and objectives and reporting outcomes to the Family Services Manager.
  5. Follow the procedures developed by DSNWK, the Kansas State Board of Education, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and follow the Procedure Manual for Infant Toddler Services in Kansas..
  6. Keep current on information, research and legislative concerns related to early intervention services and take action as needed to support the program.
  7. Collaborate with the Kid-Link team to develop and ensure the implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan for each child in the Kid-Link program.
  8. Ensure the Infant Toddler database for Kansas Part C services is utilized with data entry, maintenance and revisions as required of the IFSP.
  9. Complete appropriate screenings, and assessments for determining eligibility for infants and toddlers in the counties served.
  10. Meet with Part B personnel to assist in transition communication and planning.
  11. Complete required reports according to agency and State policies, licensure and accreditation standards in a timely manner.
  12. Complete the Child Outcomes Summary forms per State requirements.
  13. Assist with the transition process for children entering/exiting the Kid-Link program to facilitate a smooth and timely transition.
  14. Assist with Kid-Link public awareness for early intervention services, child find and fund raising activities.
  15. Obtain training necessary to maintain Kansas teaching licensing/certification and DSNWK training requirements.
  16. Participate in agency, community and State meetings and activities as directed.
  17. Report health, safety and ANE issues to appropriate personnel per agency policies, in addition, report to the state as required for mandates for ANE issues.
  18. Maintain license and licensing insurance.
  19. Provide information and resources to parents, which will enable them to support their child’ developmental progress.
  20. Provide therapy notes and documentation as required by Kid-Link and state. Ensure that billings are entered per agency policy.
  21. Assist staff in reporting transportation related items (Ie. end of month mileage report, repairs).
  22. Have good communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to collect and present meaningful data driven decisions.
  23. Strong relationship-building and listening skills.
  24. Have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  25. Eager to make an impact for the early intervention program and passion for health and wellness.

Education - Bachelors degree in Education with an endorsement of Early Childhood Handicapped or Early Childhood Unified, required. Certification as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher required. Teaching License in the State of Kansas is required and must be maintained.

Experience - One year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in an educational system, preferred.

Extent of physical effort required Little if any behavior or other physical intervention. Must be physically able to evacuate children in the event of an emergency and apply necessary behavior management techniques as directed by the family and Individual Family Support Plan Team. Position may have other physical requirements for specific settings, i.e. climbing stairs, sitting on the floor, lifting small children, toys and equipment, etc.

  • Must have good people skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Complete and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.Will Train.
