For a proper revamp, I'm shifting this to be a Central America Animal Pack with the following species:

  • Black-Bellied Whistling Duck
  • Central American Agouti
  • Geoffrey's Spider Monkey
  • Ocelot
  • Lowland Paca
  • White-Nosed Coati
  • White-Tailed Deer
  • Milk Snake (Exhibit Animal)

Honestly this pack is so easy th fix it's almost painful.

Swap the flamingo by the scarlet ibis, so the bird contrast is stronger.
Swap the coyote for the SA coati, as the latter is more popular and versatile.
Swap the bighorn by the musk ox and the ocelot for the elk if we want to keep the americas theme, otherwise, change then for the tegu and golden lion tamarin if an latin america is meant to be kept.

There, the pack sounds way more interesting.

I wish we'd gotten Latin America/Neotropical animal pack.

  • South American Coati: most requested
  • Rhea: decently requested very important regional pick
  • Mara: ditto
  • Ocelot: high profile small cat
  • Scarlet Ibis: would accept a spoonbill for its range, but I want an ibis rig for mods
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey: would accept a howler monkey, but I like the idea of a brachiating South American animal a bit more
  • Golden Lion Tamarin: popular and my favorite. If possible, I'd try to add the Cotton Top and Emperor tamarin as well. The models should be very similar and small enough to get away with minor errors, and they are too small to have much texture to worry about. I think sneaking in a couple of extras should not be a huge deal.

Tropical South America would be yellow, arid NA would stay green, Patagonia would be green, Central America would be green, and the South American grasslands would be green for me. With the extra tamarins, New World monkey representation would no longer be terrible. Bird fans would get a new model. Two of the remaining four essential Carnivora would be knocked out. I'd still be waiting on a WFWD, howler monkey, tamandua, and perhaps a Brazilian tapir, but South American rep would no longer be obviously worse than every other region.

Keeping with the general theme:
Americas Animal Pack
1. White-Nosed Coatimundi
2. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey/Black Howler
3. Ocelot
4. Caribbean Flamingo
5. Greater Rhea
6. Patagonian Mara
7. Golden Lion Tamarin

Is this essentially a South America Pack 2 in disguise? Yep, but Arid exists so yeah.

Yeah, it’s not like Frontier hasn’t called packs a broader name before only to zone in on something more specific, so I don’t see much issue having this focus on Latin America and only being a broader “Americas” pack by technicality

1. South American Coati
2. Greater Rhea
3. Patagonian Mara
4. Argentine Black and White Tegu/Red-Footed Tortoise
5. I’ll keep the White-Faced Saki but pretty much any common NW monkey would satisfy me.

And then for the “North America” side:
6. Roseate Spoonbill
7. Ocelot

I’d still want the flamingo, but it’d just make such a no-brainer anniversary animal that I’d save it for that in this hypothetical universe that didn’t happen.

So, I wouldn't actually change much apart from the coyote and the bighorn:

  1. Replace coyote with the coati. Please no coati not coyote tags, please
  2. Replace bighorn with the mara

That's pretty much all I'd do. A simple 2 changes thay coildve made this pack 20/20 for me. But, as it is, it's a solid 7/10. We've definitely had worse, we've definitely had better.

If Frontier still reads the forums, then please consider bringing at least those 2 animals in the future

That would do the work for me although I would also change flamingo for vicuña or guanaco. And make flamingo the anniversary animal in 2025.
Coati Mara and wild lama would make this pack great again.

Bascally, if they would just have swapped the damn goat / sheep with a Coatil I would already be absolutely fine with this pack. If we would change fine to really happy, it would look like this:

1. South American Coati
2. Nandu
3. American Flamingo
4. Squirrel Monkey (though I can live with the Saki)
5. Ocelot
6. Bushdog
7.Mara

Yes, I love the inclusion of the Flamingo. Always wanted it. I could take Vicuña or Guanaco (if we want to keep it SA) as anniversary, as we already payed several times for Llama and Alpaca but only in base game for Flamingo. So that is a clone I can totally live with paying for once again (but it's enough now).

Besides coati, mara and howler which animals from SA are still most wanted?
Wild Camelids are also mentioned a lot but mostly not in a positive way.

The Argentine black-and-white tegu is one. I also like the pudu. I'm still hoping for the scarlet ibis

Keep:
1. Greater Rhea
2. Bush Dog
3. White-Faced Saki

Change:
4. Patagonian Mara (Instead of Ocelot, I have no need for it unfortunately)
5. Scarlet Ibis (Instead of American Flamingo, which imo is one of the few animals that can be modded in and look convincingly Frontier-made)
6. White-Nosed Coati (Instead of Coyote)
7. Southern Tamandua (Instead of Bighorn Sheep, for the same reason as the Flamingo)

As others have said the Coyote and Bighorn are the main things bringing this pack down for me, less so but also the Ocelot and Flamingo. I'd gladly exchange all 4 of those for literally just a Scarlet Ibis and the Rhea, Bush Dog, and Saki, nothing else, and pay full price (ok maybe not full price, but I'd be more inclined to buy immediately and not wait for a sale like I'm probably going to now).

-Any monkey really
-New habitat reptiles: Tegu, red footed tort, arrau river turtle, rhino iguana
-Agouti and other small critters for tropical houses
-New bird types: Whistling or muscovy duck, ibis, spoonbill, southern screamer, trumpeter bird, Brown pelican (not my prefered species, but any pelican would be a huge W and the other you could easily mod using this base)

Keeping to most of the roster, I would have switched out the Coyote for the White Nosed Coati. That alone would have brought the pack up from a 6.1/10 (based on how I ranked the 7 animals) to a solid 7. I would have also replaced the Saki with a Howler but it wouldn't have affected the overall rank as much, but if I also had switched out the Bighorn for the ABB, this would have pushed it into a solid 8 score for me. Thought about removing the Ocelot but that does give it a good central american animal which could have joined the Coati.

Honestly I'm pretty happy with this pack already, but if you want what the perfect Americas pack would have been for me I'd change it to Latin America and go:
South American Coati
Greater Rhea
Black Howler Monkey
Patagonian Mara
Southern Tamandua
Argentine Black And White Tegu
Bush Dog

Actually you know what screw it make it a Latin America expansion pack and add:
Golden Lion Tamarin
Ocelot
Red Legged Serima
White-Faced Saki
Green Anaconda (E)

And for the icing on the cake make the American flamingo the anniversary animal this year.

Boom, 35/10 pack right there

Yeah I would do almost exactly this but go:

SA Coati
Greater Rhea
Bush Dog
Southern Tamandua
Saki Monkey
Mara, Agouti or Paca OR Ocelot
Squirrel / Howler / Spider Monkey or any Tamarin (we just need one more monkey)

That would leave room for another NA-centric pack like Forests.

I love this pack! Maybe the Flamingo could have been Ibis or Spoonbill... The Coyote could have been Coati LOL. And the Saki could have been Howler. I personally think Frontier did a good job trying to listen to everyone in the community with this pack (they added birds, south American animals and a monkey). I'm grateful they keep supporting the game, and I'm happy to buy this next pack.

Trying to keep the pack vaguely realistic with the effort/resources frontier is putting into packs at the moment:
Keep:
1. White Faced Saki
2. Greater Rhea
3. American Flamingo
4. Bush Dog
Change:
5. Coyote -> Coati
6. Bighorn -> Mara
7. Ocelot -> Squirrel Monkey

There’s two options:

If it has to stay an ‘Americas’ animal pack, I’d have gone for more big hitters from NA and SA and left the obscurities out:

So I’d keep:
1. Ocelot
2. Greater Rhea

Then add:
3. American Black Bear
4. Musk Ox
5. Ring-Tailed Coati
6. Patagonian Mara
7. Black Howler Monkey

In a perfect world it becomes a Neotropical animal pack allowing for a more fleshed out SA roster:

Keep:
1. Ocelot
2. Greater Rhea
3. White-Faced Saki
4. Bush Dog

Add:
5. Ring-Tailed Coati
6. Patagonian Mara
7. Southern Tamandua

I’m just a bit confused that you make an ‘Americas’ animal pack and then seemingly don’t add the most obvious omissions from neither North or South America - the ABB and the RT Coati. I don’t think the Bighorn Sheep and the Coyote were particularly frontrunners for many for the American omissions.

If we’re being logical and clones were necessary due to time constraints - split both.
Do another NA animal pack with like:

1. American Black Bear
2. Roosevelt Elk
3. Musk Ox
4. Canadian Lynx
5. Bighorn Sheep
6. American Flamingo
7. Coyote

Then do the Neotropical pack as follow up.
